Mounting Memories and Probing Around the Harbour

Updated: Oct 12, 2019

What better way to energise the parishioners of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, quite literally, than by asking them to participate in a Treasure Hunt all across Dockyard and Mazagaon.

The response from the parishioners in the lead up to the September 15 event was tremendous. 48 parishioners registered. They were divided into eight teams with six in

each. Each team was given a colour, and asked to wear t-shirts corresponding to the colour given. At 4pm that Sunday, all the participants assembled in the church basement wearing red, blue, green, yellow, pink, black, white and grey. The first clue was written on a paper and given to the team captains. While solving the clues didn’t take a lot of time, it was going to the spots that was a real rush. Right from the walking to the popular Matharpacady village to climbing the slope of the hill; from going to All Saints Home and running back to check taxes at GST Bhavan, it was really a fun experience. The most tiring stretch was the walk from GST Bhavan to the ever-scented Ferry Wharf.

Team Yellow were the fastest to complete the hunt followed by team Red. There were appetizing snacks and cold drinks awaiting our arrival. Prizes were handed by Fr. Nigel Barrett. It was a good time, especially meeting people whom we might otherwise just happen to notice in church.
