1. Today is the 19th Sunday of Ordinary, Jesus walks on the troubled waters of our lives and encourages us to have faith. Be not afraid I am with you, are his words of comfort. Today we celebrate Prison Ministry Sunday in the Archdiocese. On this occasion, we recall the sacrificial life of St. Maximillian Kolbe, the patron saint of Prison Ministry. May we be filled with the fire of love, and zeal to work selflessly, serving our society, especially those in prison. After the announcement we will screen a short video on prison ministry and one of our parish volunteers of the prison ministry team will speak a few words.

3. The Bombay Catholic Sabha Rosary Unit is offering its annual scholarships for deserving Catholic students from our parish. The scholarship is for academics and sports for the year 2022-23. The Conditions are that the student must be in residence in our parish and one of the parents should be a Sabha member. Those who have appeared for SSC, ICSE HSC, graduation and postgraduation may apply. The forms are available at the parish office from 16th August onwards. Details are on the notice board.
4. A Special Scholarship in memory of the late Mr Mervyn and Mrs Felicia Valladares, has been instituted by the family in remembrance of their parents. This scholarship is for the education of any girl child for academic excellence. This scholarship will be given on 8th September. Application forms are available with the Parish office from 16th August. The last date for submission is 30th August.
5. Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorder Society invites you to an awareness program on neurological conditions of the elderly, which includes information about Parkinson's Disease, Stroke and Dementia, and the importance of healthy ageing for senior citizens. Please join us on Sunday, 20 August at 10:45 am in the undercroft. Attend in large numbers and benefit from the free education program on neurological conditions affecting the elderly. Please contact the senior citizens' core group members to register your names
6. A Konkani Drama titled "TUMI ZABAB DIAT", in Aid of The Society of Our Lady of Piety, (known as Piety Home), Dabul will be held at Sahitya Sangh Hall, Girgaum, Charni Road on Sunday, 20 August 2023 at 8.00 p.m., presented by Menino De Bandar. Parishioners are requested to patronize the above programme for a worthy cause.
7. Tuesday, 15th August is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary as well as Independence Day. It is a day of obligation, please note the change in Mass timings: Mass at 7:30 am followed by the flag hosting at 8:30 am and in the evening at 6:00 p.m. Note there are only 2 masses on Tuesday 15th August.
8. Please drop in your contribution for the Clergy fund, the proceeds will go towards the needs of the sick and retired priests at the clergy home. Those who would like to make their contribution by cheque may do so in the name of the “Archdiocese of Bombay”. Please mention your PAN number and address for receipts. Please note this is a voluntary collection. You may drop your contributions in the boxes beside the altar and at the church's rear entrance.
9. We will have a special collection today after Communion for relief operations for the people of Manipur.
10. To celebrate the Day of the Girl Child, the Women's Cell of our parish is organising a get-together with lunch for all our female domestic workers on the 09th of September from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM. We request all our parishioners to cooperate with us in this endeavour and send their domestic helpers on this day
11. The collection for Sunday, August 6th, was Rs. 32000/-. This collection goes towards the needs of Archdioceses.
The first Friday collection was Rs 6700/- Thank you for your generosity.
