Today's reading for the 8th Sunday in Ordinary Time teaches us that we must address our own faults before correcting others. A person’s actions reflect their inner character, just as a tree is known by its fruit.
We begin the season of Lent on Ash Wednesday, 5th March. There will be two masses on Ash Wednesday—one at 7 a.m. and one at 7 p.m. At the 7 a.m. mass, we will impose ashes during the Eucharist, and at the 7 p.m. mass, ashes will be imposed after the service. Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting and abstinence.
During the season of Lent, we will have Stations of the Cross in Konkani on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. Additionally, Stations of the Cross in English will be led by the communities on Friday after the evening mass, with Zone 1 conducting the stations . On Sundays, there will be a session for children after the 8:30 a.m. mass. Please join us in our Lenten devotion.
Friday, 7th of March, is the First Friday of the Month. Keeping in mind the multiple programs we have, we will have 30 minutes of Eucharistic Adoration at 6:30 pm followed by the Mass.
The Holy Cross Oratory is organising a food fest on Fat Sunday Food 2nd March 2025, to raise funds for the 150 years of the oratory Do patronise the stalls for the Cross Committee
Parish Council is on Thursday, the 6th of March, after the evening mass. Parish council members are requested to all be present.
As part of our Lenten preparations, we undertake annual pilgrimages to various holy sites. This Lent, we have planned three journeys. The first pilgrimage is scheduled for Saturday, March 15th, and will include visits to two churches designated as Pilgrim Churches for the Jubilee Year: St. Michael's Mahim and Mount Mary. This is an opportunity to receive the special indulgences available for visiting these churches. Additionally, we will tour the newly inaugurated exhibition centre, Parnam Maria. The next Pilgrimage will be to Infant Jesus Shrine Nashik and to ST. ANNE'S Cathedral on the 22nd of March Please secure your seat by registering with Ms. Freda in the KG office at the earliest seats are limited.
In collaboration with Purple Orchid, we are planning a pilgrimage to religious destinations in Europe. Those interested in learning more or joining this journey are invited to contact Fr. Merwyn.
Our parish will celebrate Women’s Day on Saturday, March 8th, with a special Eucharistic celebration followed by a social gathering and dinner. Please register with your zonal coordinators as soon as possible. The registration fee is Rs. 50 per person.
The South Bombay Deanery is organising a night vigil for youth to be held at Rosary Church from 8th March 7:30 PM - 9th March 6:00 AM. It is a night of faith and worship, a time to recharge ourselves spiritually. Do get in touch with your youth representatives. The registration is online
