Announcements 20th April 2025 Easter Sunday

1.     Out of darkness and suffering comes the greatest triumph of all time, the resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ. As we celebrate the resurrected Christ, we are called to share this good news with all we come in contact with. On behalf of the Parish Fathers and Sisters, we wish you all a very Happy Easter. May the Peace and Joy of the Risen Lord be with you all. Please convey our wishes to the sick and housebound. Please Joins us after the service for a piece of Cake and cold drink courtesy of our anonymous benefactors, who have requested you to pray for them and their families

2.     On April 22nd 7 of our youth will be confirmed by Archbishop John at the 7 pm evening mass. Please keep them in your prayers.

3.     The Mass for the Easter blessing of water will begin on 23rd April 2025 and will be a part of the evening service. The schedule is as follows: 23rd April Wednesday Zone 1, 24th April Thursday Zone 2, 25th April Zone 3, 28th Monday April Zone 4, 29th April Tuesday Zone 5, 30th April Zone 6

4.     The communities will animate the Divine Mercy Novenas from Monday, 21st to Saturday 26th April. The Novena will be at 6:30 and animated by Zones in order, starting with Zone 1 and ending with Zone 6.

5.     This is the final week to drop your Lenten Alms, this collection has been earmarked for St Pius X College, Goregaon—the Archdiocesan Seminary of Bombay and go towards the formation of Priests. Please put your contributions and drop them in the box kept in front of the Altar. If you wish to give a cheque you may do so in the name of the Archdiocese of Bombay.

6.     Those who wish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in March 2026   need to give their names to the Parish Office along with a copy of their Baptism certificates. Anyone who has completed the 10th Standard Board Examination or is above the age of 15 is eligible. The last date for submitting the names is 31st May 2025 and classes will commence from 8th June 2025.

7.     Those who are eligible to receive the sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist in the year 2025-26 need to give their names and Baptism certificate to the Parish office. Those who have attended the 3rd std of Sunday school are eligible.

8.     We invite you to prayer for Fr. Epiphany Castell who celebrates his sacerdotal golden jubilee on 19th April.

9.     The preparatory novena service will be held at the Holy Cross oratory in Matharpacady village at 7.30 pm from Tuesday, 22nd April 2025. The theme for our sesquicentennial year of the Matharpacady Holy Cross Oratory is "on the pilgrimage of hope, faith is our compass". All are welcome.

10. The preparatory novena service for the cross at D’lima street will begin on Saturday 26th April at 8 pm the feast day will be celebrated on the 5th of May.

11.  Next Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday. The feast mass will be at 8:30 am. At the 10 am mass next Sunday we will officially thank Sister Florina Joseph for her service to our church and Parish community.

12.  The collection on Palm Sunday was Rs 46020/- we thank you for your generosity.

13. From the appointments in the Examiner, you may have realized that Fr. Merwyn D’Souza has been appointed as the Joint director of Clergy home Bandra. He assumes his office on the 1st of June.  Fr. Nigel Barrett has been appointed as the Parish Priest of St. Andrews Church Bandra, while carrying on with his responsibilities as Director of Communication for the Archdiocese of Bombay. We invite you to pray for them both as they take up their new responsibilities. The Parish Council will inform you when we will have a Thanksgiving Eucharist for both Frs. Nigel and Fr. Merwyn.
